Laura Siegemund vs Elina Svitolina prediction
Laura Siegemund ended a three-match losing streak in round one as she came from a set down to beat Petra Marcinko. Siegemund established a double break advantage at the start of the deciding set and held her nerve to win 3-6 6-3 6-4 after two hours and 47 minutes.
She now faces Elina Svitolina. The Ukrainian has made a very strong start to the season. She began the campaign with a title in Auckland, and then made it all the way to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, losing to world number one Aryna Sabalenka. After a third-round exit in Doha, Svitolina went on another run in Dubai as she won four matches in a row to make the final. However, she would lose in straight sets to Jessica Pegula.
Svitolina has won 15 out of her 18 matches so far this season. She also leads the head-to-head against Siegemund 1-0 after a victory at the Olympic Games five years ago, and she is the clear favourite to win this in straight sets.
