Laslo Djere vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction
Laslo Djere continued his serene start at the Italian Open as he easily defeated 31st seed and recent Estoril Open champion Alex Michelsen 6-0 6-3 to make the third-round. Djere hasn’t dropped a set in either of his first two matches and is showing some of the form that took him all the way to the Chile Open title a few months back.
He will have his work cut out in his next match however, as he takes on four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz made his return after a minor layoff against Dusan Lajovic and raced to a comfortable 6-3 6-3 win. The Spaniard seemed to be moving freely during the match after missing the Madrid Open due to an adductor injury.
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 2-0 with both matches taking place on clay. One of those encounters was just last month at the Barcelona Open, with the Spaniard winning 6-2 6-4. Djere can be a dangerous player on clay but we can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for the world number three.
