Katerina Siniakova vs Daria Kasatkina prediction
Katerina Siniakova breezed through her first-round match at the Korea Open, defeating Soyhun Park 6-2 6-2 after just an hour and 13 minutes. The Czech was not broken on serve and won a commanding 82% of her first serve points as she made it three consecutive victories, including qualifying.
She now faces Daria Kasatkina who received a bye in round one and heads into this event as the fourth seed overall. The world number 16 got through to the third-round of the US Open but lost to four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in three sets. It’s been a relatively disappointing season for Kasatkina, who has made just one quarter-final and that occurred right at the start of the year in Adelaide.
However, she does hold the commanding lead in the head-to-head, with six wins to just one for Siniakova. She also leads 2-0 on hard court. Recent history gives Kasatkina the edge, but Siniakova is likely to prove a tough test.
