Her next opponent is Anastasia Potapova as she pulled off an upset by beating Elena Rybakina. Potapova was unable to make it out of qualifying for this event, but she’s now into the last eight as she beat Rybakina 7-6 (8) 6-4 after one hour and 53 minutes.
Pliskova leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory two years ago, but this is their first match on a clay court. Both players have performed strongly to reach this point, but Potapova will take a lot of confidence from how she played against Rybakina.
