Karolina Muchova vs Naomi Osaka prediction

Naomi Osaka will be on a revenge mission when she faces Karolina Muchova in the last eight of the 2025 US Open.

The two-time champion was beaten 6-3 7-6 by the Czech at Flushing Meadows 12 months ago, but will feel she is playing her best tennis since her 2021 Australian Open triumph at this year’s event. 

The Japanese star stunned French Open champion and third seed Coco Gauff 6-3 6-2 to underline the belief that she is very much a contender for a fifth major title. 

Next up, Osaka meets 11th seed Muchova for the fifth time with the head-to-head intriguingly poised at 2-2. 

Osaka leads 2-1 on hard courts and also won their most recent encounter 1-6 6-1 6-3 at the Australian Open back in January. 

Muchova is targeting her third straight semi-final in New York but has had to battle hard to get to this stage, winning all four of her matches in a deciding set. 

This may well be another rollercoaster but if Osaka hits similar heights to the calibre of tennis that despatched Gauff, then she will be the one to come through.
