However, she would pick up just one more game in the match as Muchova dominated the remainder of it to win 1-6 6-3 6-0.
Coco Gauff will be her opponent after the American’s win over Liudmila Samsonova. Gauff edged ahead after a tight first set, and that proved to be the difference in the match as she strolled through the second to win 7-5 6-1.
Gauff enjoys a dominant head-to-head record against Muchova, leading 6-0 with the drop of just one set. They played each other just last month in the semi-finals of the Miami Open, with Gauff cruising to a 6-1 6-1 win. Muchova’s variety fails to cause problems for Gauff, due to the latter’s exceptional court coverage. She has the psychological edge in this matchup too.
