Karen Khachanov vs Arthur Gea prediction

After a period of poor form, Karen Khachanov was able to win three matches in a row at the Italian Open as he reached the quarter-finals of a Masters 1000 tournament for the first time making the final of the Canadian Open last August. However, he was beaten by Casper Ruud in a rain-interrupted match. He then competed in Hamburg but was unable to maintain any momentum as he lost to Ugo Humbert in the round-of-16. The Russian is a two-time quarter-finalist at Roland Garros, achieving the feat in 2019 and 2023.

Arthur Gea was handed a wildcard for his home slam and is set to make his main draw debut in Paris. He began his season incredibly as he won a Challenger title and qualified for the Australian Open, beating Jiri Lehecka in his first-round match. He hasn’t been able to reach the same heights since that point, losing in the first-round of the Hamburg Open last time out.

Gea will have home support, and he could definitely trouble Khachanov for a set or two here, but the Russian remains a clear favourite.
