Kamilla Rakhimova was largely in control of her first-round match as she defeated Jil Teichmann 6-4 6-1 in the first-round. The Russian is in pretty decent form as of right now, as she’s coming off the back of a quarter-final at a 125 event in Paris and also won three straight matches, including qualifying, before a loss in the second-round of the Italian Open to seed Emma Navarro.
Camila Osorio will undoubtedly to be a tougher test. The number two seed was forced to come from a set down to defeat Elisabetta Cocciaretto in her first-round match. The Colombian was on a three-match losing streak leading up to the event but already picked up a title on this surface earlier last month at Copa Colsanitas.
Osorio has won all three of their matches with two taking place on clay. Rakhimova is not in bad form at all and both have registered seven wins on clay over the past six weeks or so. We edge towards Osorio winning in three sets but it’s likely to be a close encounter.
