Joao Fonseca vs Jannik Sinner prediction
Jannik Sinner showed flashes of his best as he eased into the round of 16 at the expense of Denis Shapovalov.
The Italian overcame an instant loss of serve to power through a 6-3 6-2 success.
The second seed will now face Joao Fonseca for the first time after the Brazilian dominated Tommy Paul 6-2 6-3.
The 19-year-old is tipped by many as the ‘third man’ who can challenge the Sinner-Alcaraz duopoly and this is his first chance to show what he can do against Jannik.
If the South American can match the standard that overwhelmed Paul, things could get interesting but if Sinner gets joy attacking the youngster’s backhand, it may be more routine than expected as the world number two is likely to raise his own level.
Joao Fonseca vs Jannik Sinner tip: Jannik Sinner win 2-0
