Gabriel Diallo is his first-round opponent in Monte-Carlo. The Canadian’s poor season took another turn as his clay court preparations began with a surprising early loss at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakesh. Diallo was the top seed, but he lost 6-2 6-2 to Alex Molcan.
Fonseca seems to have found his feet in 2026, while Diallo is struggling for form. The 19-year-old will be viewed as the favourite for this match.
