Ben Shelton set up a mouthwatering quarter-final clash with Joao Fonseca in Munich.

The second seed claimed a 6-4 7-6 success over Alexander Blockx to book a maiden encounter with the Brazilian starlet. 

Fonseca had earlier impressed with a 6-3 6-2 rout of seventh seed Arthur Rinderknech. 

Shelton, 23, was runner-up last year but has found it tough going so far this time around while teenager Fonseca has been playing some spectacular tennis.
