Jil Teichmann advanced to her first semi-final since the Iasi Open in 2025 as she beat Yasmine Kabbaj in a dramatic match. The Swiss made a fast start and took the lead following a dominant first set but Kabbaj, who was bidding to become the first Moroccan in history to make the semi-finals of a WTA 250 event, drew level in the second. A dramatic third set saw Teichmann save three match points in total as she won 6-1 5-7 7-6 (6) after three hours and seven minutes.
Her next opponent is Petra Marcinko. She is through to her first tour-level semi-final after beating second seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in straight sets. The Croatian was largely in control as she won 6-3 6-4.
They have played on one previous occasion, in the qualifying stages of the 2023 US Open, with Marcinko cruising to a 6-3 6-1 victory. She produced the more assured display in the previous round, and this is a brilliant opportunity for the youngster to get through to a final.
