Jaume Munar vs Sebastian Korda prediction
Jaume Munar made it through to the third-round after thrashing 12th seed Ben Shelton 6-2 6-1. The Spaniard gave up just one break point opportunity during the whole match and can now look forward to an encounter against another American, Sebastian Korda.
Korda also won his second-round match in straight sets as he beat Aleksander Vukic 6-3 6-4 without losing serve. This is a second successive third-round appearance for the American but he will hope to go one step further after losing at that stage last time out in Madrid.
They have played just before on hard court, with Korda comfortably defeating the Spaniard 6-4 6-1 in Gijon three years ago.
Munar wasn’t in particularly strong form heading into this event, but he will take plenty of confidence from his crushing victory over Shelton. There’s a grittiness to his style on clay that will ask questions of Korda. It could be a tight affair but we’re leaning towards the American getting it done in three sets.
