Jaqueline Cristian vs Anastasija Sevastova prediction
Jaqueline Cristian squeezed past Aliona Bolsova in two tiebreaks to make it through to her first quarter-final of the season so far. Cristian saved two set points in the first set on her way to victory. She now takes on Anastasija Sevastova for a place in the last four.
Sevastova, the former world number 11, also reached her first quarter-final of the year as she wrapped up a straight sets win over Zeynep Sonmez. Sevastova was in control for the majority of the encounter, winning 6-3 6-4.
This will be their first match on clay but they’ve played against each other once before. Cristian won 6-3 7-5 in the quarter-finals of an event in Napoca last year. She now has four wins from her last five matches after her run to the third-round of the Italian Open and is finding form on the clay at the right time. Sevastova is a gritty opponent and can cause problems but we back Cristian to advance in three sets.
