He now takes on Richard Gasquet who managed to extend his career by at least another match after beating fellow Frenchman Terence Atmane in the first-round. The 38-year-old won 6-2 2-6 6-3 6-0. Gasquet outlined his intention to retire after his home slam in October and will receive incredible support from the Philippe Chatrier crowd for what will likely be the final time.
The three-time Grand Slam champion leads the head-to-head 3-0, with both having played each other at the exact same stage of the competition last year. Sinner won 6-4 6-2 6-4.
