Jannik Sinner vs Andrey Rublev prediction
World number one Jannik Sinner thrashed Jiri Lehecka 6-0 6-1 6-2 in the third-round to advance. Sinner won the first 11 games of the match, racing to a 6-0 5-0 lead as he produced one of the most impressive performances of his comeback so far. The Italian has now won 17 Grand Slam matches in a row and his win-loss record is 15-1 for the season.
He will take on Andrey Rublev in round four. Rublev made it through via a walkover after his third-round opponent Arthur Fils was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to a back problem. The Russian got through his first two matches relatively comfortably and reached the final of the Hamburg Open in his previous event. He’s not had a particularly inspiring clay court season overall but he’s one match away from equalling his best finish at Roland Garros, which he managed in 2020 and 2022.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 6-3 and 2-1 on clay. They have played at this stage of the French Open before three years ago, with Rublev winning after Sinner retired midway through the match at one set apiece. The three-time Grand Slam champion is a different player these days and is good value to make it through to the quarter-finals.
