Jannik Sinner vs Alexei Popyrin prediction

Jannik Sinner began his bid to complete the Career Golden Masters with a straight-forward win over Sebastian Ofner in his opening match. The world number one extended his Masters 1000 winning streak to 29 matches, matching Roger Federer for the third longest run in the history of the series. Sinner made just five unforced errors in the first set and a drop shot at the start of the second was enough to clinch a break in set two. Sinner won 6-3 6-4 and now faces Alexei Popyrin.

The Australian notched up arguably his best win of the season so far as he beat Jakub Mensik in the second-round. Popyrin, who defeated Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in round one, overcame a slump in the second set to win 6-3 2-6 6-4 in two hours and 11 minutes.

Sinner leads the head-to-head 2-1. He beat Popyrin earlier this year in Doha. This is likely to be yet another comfortable victory for the Italian, as he continues his quest towards a historic achievement.
