Jack Draper vs Luciano Darderi prediction

Jack Draper broke new ground in Madrid last time out, reaching his first ever clay court final after fine performances against the likes of Tommy Paul and Lorenzo Musetti. Draper was bidding for his second Masters 1000 title of the season after winning Indian Wells but lost a close three set battle with Casper Ruud. 

Draper has already taken huge strides on clay this season but he will hope that continues in Rome. He takes on Luciano Darderi after the Italian defeated Yunchaokete Bu 7-6 6-3 in the first-round. Darderi did not drop his serve during the whole match and has already shown how dangerous he can be on the surface this season with a victory at the Moroccan Open and a runner-up finish at a Challenger event in Napoli.

They have played once before, with Draper defeating Darderi in straight sets in Vienna last year. Draper should have enough for the win but the Italian will be a tricky opponent on the surface. It may take a while for the Briton to get going after his exploits last week but we back him to advance in three sets.
