When comparing these two teams, Italy have performed significantly better over the course of the group stage. Wins over USA and New Zealand led to them topping their group after drawing 1-1 with Japan. China however, picked up three points less than the Italians with a mixture of results. They’ve not won in their last two, which included a 1-3 loss to Spain.
Italy will have studied that game and are no doubt eying up an opportunity to do damage against this Chinese defence. They don’t look to be as strong as what Italy have to offer and you’d expect the young Italian backline to hold their nerves when under pressure. That defence are worth backing to help springboard Italy to a win in what should be a low-scoring contest.
