Iryna Shymanovich vs Linda Fruhvirtova prediction
Iryna Shymanovich enters the draw after two straight set wins in qualifying. She attempted to do the same at the Linz Open last week but lost a close three set match to Donna Vekic. The Belarusian is yet to make it past the second-round of any tournament that she’s competed in this season, and she is yet to pick up a tour-level victory in 2026.
She faces Linda Fruhvirtova in the first-round. The Czech was also involved in Linz qualifying but won just one game as she was thrashed 6-0 6-1 by Aliaksandra Sasnovich. However, she did manage to reach a WTA quarter-final in Ostrava earlier in the year. Furthermore, she picked up a win at the Australian Open as she advanced to the second-round.
Fruhvirtova has a point to prove after her heavy defeat last week, and she will be viewed as the favourite to defeat the unproven Shymanovich in the first-round.
