Ireland come into this one sitting rock-bottom in Group B with four defeats from four. The Irish were comfortably beaten by Scotland in their opener before keeping things tight against New Zealand, England and then Sri Lanka in their next three matches.
They now face a West Indies side that sit second in Group B and will qualify for the semi-finals with a win here but there is a bit of jeopardy after they succumbed to a hammering at the hands of England at Lord’s on Wednesday.
That does mean that the Windies could fall behind New Zealand if they lose this one but that remains unlikely, even with Ireland able to get themselves into the contest in their last few games.
