Inter Milan preview: Need a performance
Having collapsed away from the treble last season and then replacing Simone Inzaghi with Cristian Chivu before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Nerazzurri began the season with low expectations and they have started the season slowly.

Sassuolo preview: Off the mark
Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Sassuolo, still under the management of former Italy international left-back Fabio Grosso, have managed to get themselves off the mark with a victory last weekend.
After back-to-back defeats to start the season, Sassuolo now come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Lazio at the Mapei Stadium, courtesy of a 70th minute winner scored by winger Alieu Fadera.
Inter Milan team news: Nothing fresh
There are no fresh injury concerns for Internazionale to deal with as they welcome Sassuolo to San Siro, with only veteran defender Matteo Darmian still sidelined for the hosts.

There was a bit of pressure on Inter at the start of this season, with suggestions that their squad was becoming too old and a point needed to be proved, and a 5-0 defeat of Torino on the opening day was a statement. It has since been a troublesome few weeks, whilst Sassuolo will believe they can keep things tight and they have a lot of quality in the final third to counter-attack. Inter are favourites, but Sassuolo should bloody their nose at San Siro.
