They have now suffered just one defeat, which came in this competition against compatriots Barcelona, in their last ten games across all competitions.

They now face a River Plate side that, with Marcelo Gallardo now back in the dugout of Los Millonarios, are one of the leading contenders to win the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores this season. They have collected four points from their opening two matches and most recently defeated Gimnasia by three goals to nil in the Argentine Primera Division.
