Ignacio Buse vs Matteo Berrettini prediction

Ignacio Buse will hope to recapture the level that he showed in Buenos Aires earlier in the season. He defeated home favourite Joao Fonseca on his way to reaching the semi-finals. However, his form hasn’t been as impressive at the following events, as he suffered an early exit in Santiago and then failed to qualify for Indian Wells. He was able to get through qualifying in Miami but then suffered a first-round defeat to Damir Dzumhur.

He takes on Matteo Berrettini. The 2021 Wimbledon finalist is now ranked outside of the top 50 but he should be able to take some encouragement from his showing in Miami, as he won two matches in a row, including an impressive victory over Alexander Bublik, to make the third-round. His run would end against Valentin Vacherot. Berrettini won this tournament two years ago.

These two faced each other for the first time in Rio last month, with Buse winning in three sets. This should be another close match between the pair, but Buse will fancy his chances of another win on his favoured clay.
