Ignacio Buse defeated Matteo Berrettini for the second time this season to advance to the next round of the Grand Prix Hassan II. He now faces Camilo Ugo Carabelli. The Argentine had to come from a set down to beat Timofey Skatov. Ugo Carabelli lost the first set on a tiebreak and was 3-1 down in the decider, but he came through to win 6-7 (2) 6-3 6-4. He defended his Challenger title in Rosario earlier this season.
This is their first ATP meeting, but they have played each other once before at Challenger level, with Ugo Carabelli defeating Buse in the second-round of an event in Santiago. Both players went through lengthy first-round encounters, but Ugo Carabelli is a strong, defensive player on this surface and will look to extend the rallies once again.
