Iga Swiatek vs Barbora Krejcikova prediction
Iga Swiatek made a strong start at the Korea Open as she registered her sixth straight victory against Sorana Cirstea. Swiatek created 17 break point opportunities in total, converting six of those as she won 6-3 6-2 after an hour and 33 minutes. The six-time Grand Slam champion’s first serve percentage totalled just 47% and she will hope to improve in that department as she awaits the challenge of fellow slam champion Barbora Krejcikova in the next round.
Krejcikova looked down and out against Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu, going a set and a break down as Raducanu served for the match at 5-3 in the second. Nevertheless, the Czech broke back and saved three match points as she won a lengthy tiebreak and raced ahead to win 4-6 7-6 6-1.
The head-to-head is 3-2 in favour of Swiatek but 2-2 on hard court. The Pole won the last match at the WTA Finals last year, coming from a set down to win. This is likely to be a competitive match, with the two-time Grand Slam champion winning nine of her last 11 matches, but Swiatek should be able to get the job done.
Iga Swiatek vs Barbora Krejcikova tip: Iga Swiatek to win 2-1
