Hugo Gaston vs Nicolas Jarry prediction

Hugo Gaston has featured in plenty of clay court events this season but struggled to advance to the latter stages of any of them. He pulled out of his last event, a Challenger in Aix-en-Provence, while he lost in the first-round of the Madrid Open to Sebastian Ofner after getting through qualifying.

Nicolas Jarry made an incredible run to the final of this event last year, becoming the first Chilean player to make the final of a Masters 1000 event since Fernando Gonzalez in 2007. He beat Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul on the way before losing to Alexander Zverev in straight sets. 

He reached his highest ranking of 16 after the tournament but this campaign has been hugely disappointing for the Chilean, with plenty of early exits from tournaments that he previously excelled in last season. He could only reach the quarter-finals of the Estoril Challenger last time out and lost in straight sets to Grigor Dimitrov a week earlier in the second-round of Madrid.

Neither player is in good form heading into this one, and we can see this going all the way to three sets.
