Heidenheim vs Freiburg prediction

It was non-negotiable from Freiburg’s point of view that they defeated Mainz in their last league game and that’s exactly what they did, pleasing the home support with a 4-0 win over a struggling side reduced to ten-men. Julian Schuster’s men then followed that up with a 2-0 victory against Darmstadt to advance through in the DFB-Pokal.

They meet another relegation-threatened club here in Heidenheim. But they aren’t ready to go down without a serious fight and that was demonstrated by a superb away performance in their last league match, which saw them pick up three precious points on the road against Union Berlin with a 1-2 victory.

Expect Heidenheim to come out all guns blazing in a bid to catch Freiburg cold. Schuster’s side have found it very difficult of late to pick up wins away from home and it would be no surprise if that continued in this game as Heidenheim scrap for their lives. Utilising the double chance market and backing either a draw or win for the hosts may be a shrewd play.

Heidenheim vs Freiburg tip: Double chance - Heidenheim/draw
