The prediction
Hawthorn have won 12, tied one and lost five of their 18 matches so far this season as they sit third in the AFL ladder, behind the Sydney Swans and runaway leaders Fremantle. Hawthorn hammered a poor Richmond side last weekend.
Essendon have been rock-bottom for much of the campaign but the heaviness of Richmond’s thrashing last week has allowed them to lift themselves to 17th in the table with Essendon earning their second victory of the campaign.
Even in their second win against a poor GWS Giants side, Essendon were fortunate in a low-scoring contest and Hawthorn should win this one quite comfortably.
