Hailey Baptiste excelled at the Italian Open, with a run from the qualifiers to the third-round before a loss to Open de Rouen winner Elina Svitolina in three close sets. However, the American failed to truly capitalise on that encouraging run as she was defeated in the second-round of a 125 event in Paris last week. She takes on Camilla Rosatello in the first-round in Morocco.
Rosatello picked up a brilliant win in Rouen in the first-round, defeating Alycia Parks but lost at the very next stage. She also lost in the second-round of the Parma Open in the event leading up to this. Rosatello has never advanced to even 200 in the world and usually plays ITF events.
Baptiste is the far more accomplished player and is ranked considerably higher than her Italian opponent. Rosatello can still be a threat, highlighted by her win over Parks a few weeks ago, but the American should be getting through comfortably.
