- Romain Langasque has long been accused of lacking consistency but he has finished inside the top 40 in his last four events and with a weakened field for this Joburg Open, the Frenchman could make his mark here.
- The one-time European Tour winner has started to produce some better golf over the course of the year and if he can continue his excellent iron work by converting his chances on the greens, he can be right in the mix come Sunday.

- Matthew Jordan finished in a tie for 31st place at the Dubai Championship which came on the back of a superb outing at the Portugal Masters in which he secured a spot in the top five and another strong performance is on the cards for him here.
- The 25-year-old is yet to win on the European Tour but he has the game to suit the conditions around Randpark and does not look too far away from claiming his maiden success having claimed a win on the Challenge Tour.
