The prediction

Gold Coast began the season with three successive victories but now head into this weekend on the back of back-to-back losses against Melbourne and then Sydney on the road in the last couple of weeks.

They now face an Essendon side that begin the sixth round of fixtures sitting second-from-bottom in the AFL table, having managed just one victory with four defeats in their five matches in the 2026 campaign.

Essendon did get their first win at home against Melbourne last week but the Gold Coast, back at the People First Stadium in Carrara, will fancy themselves to earn a fourth win of the campaign.
