Giulio Zeppieri vs Learner Tien prediction

Giulio Zeppieri advanced to the round-of-16 in Hangzhou after defeating Fajing Sun 6-3 6-2. The Italian was not broken and fired 10 aces as he won comfortably after an hour and 24 minutes. That was Zeppieri’s first victory on the ATP Tour this season.

He will now face Learner Tien in the next round. The teenager was a break down to Mariano Navone in the third set but recovered brilliantly as he reeled off four straight games from 3-1 down to win 5-7 6-3 6-4. Tien is one victory away from a third quarter-final of the season and his second on a hard court.  

Zeppieri is solid from the baseline and will look to patiently construct points, while Tien is likely to be the more aggressive on return and can dictate early on. The Italian has a solid record on the Challenger Tour, but the American’s rise is continuing and he should have too much quality for Zeppieri in Hangzhou.
