Giulio Zeppieri vs Fajing Sun prediction

Giulio Zeppieri qualified for the Hangzhou Open after two victories over Liam Draxl and Dalibor Svrcina. The world number 169 competes on the Challenger Tour, and did win a title in Shanghai earlier this month, his first of the season. He is yet to win on the ATP Tour in 2025, having lost in the first-round in Umag and Indian Wells, while he failed to make it out of qualifying for the Italian Open. 

Fajing Sun is his first-round opponent as he was handed a wildcard for the tournament. Ranked 236 in the world, the Chinese player has not competed since that event in Shanghai at the start of this month. He also has a Challenger title to his name this season after winning in Wuxi four months ago, while he also reached a final in Pozoblanco. Both tournaments were on hard court and Sun is clearly most comfortable on that surface. 

Zeppieri is higher ranked, but Sun has a fine record on hard courts, albeit at a lower level, and could push him all the way. There's a strong possibility that this heads into three sets.
