Getafe have started the season relatively strongly but Getafe now come into this one on the back of three defeats in their last four matches under the management of Jose Bordalas, as they hover outside of the top seven in La Liga.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Villarreal in their most recent outing at El Madrigal last weekend with goals from Tajon Buchanan and Georges Mikautadze, sandwiching a Luis Milla sending off for Getafe.
Espanyol preview: Surprise package
Espanyol begin the 16th match day of the campaign sitting tucked inside the top five following their takeover of the club by Alan Pace, which is very impressive after they escaped relegation on the final day of last season.
The Catalans have enjoyed three successive victories ahead of this one, most recently edging past Rayo Vallecano by a goal to nil at the RCDE Stadium last week, courtesy of a 39th minute penalty scored by Roberto Fernandez.
