Getafe preview: Average form

Getafe have started the season relatively strongly but Getafe now come into this one on the back of three defeats in their last four matches under the management of Jose Bordalas, as they hover outside of the top seven in La Liga.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Villarreal in their most recent outing at El Madrigal last weekend with goals from Tajon Buchanan and Georges Mikautadze, sandwiching a Luis Milla sending off for Getafe.

Espanyol preview: Surprise package

Espanyol begin the 16th match day of the campaign sitting tucked inside the top five following their takeover of the club by Alan Pace, which is very impressive after they escaped relegation on the final day of last season.

The Catalans have enjoyed three successive victories ahead of this one, most recently edging past Rayo Vallecano by a goal to nil at the RCDE Stadium last week, courtesy of a 39th minute penalty scored by Roberto Fernandez.

Getafe team news: Luis Milla suspended

After that aforementioned red card against the Yellow Submarine last week, versatile midfielder Luis Milla is now unavailable for the hosts as he is missing through suspension.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): David Soria; Juan Iglesias, Domingos Duarte, Djene, Nyom; Kiko Femenia, Javier Munoz, Mauro Arambarri, Mario Martin; Adrian Liso, Borja Mayoral

Unavailable: Davinchi (Injured), Luis Milla (Suspended)

Espanyol team news: Dolan suspended

Former Blackburn Rovers winger Tyrhys Dolan is now missing through suspension for the visitors this weekend, while the likes of Clemens Riedel and Ramon Terrats are both doubts.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; El Hilali, Fernando Calero, Leandro Cabrera, Carlos Romero; Koleosho, Urko Gonzalez, Pol Lozano, Pere Milla; Edu Exposito, Roberto Fernandez

Unavailable: Dolan (Suspended), Javi Puado (Injured)

Questionable: Riedel (Injured), Ramon Terrats (Injured)

Getafe vs Espanyol prediction

In previous seasons, the expectation for this one would be that it is a dour and low-scoring clash between the two sides. However, Getafe have been a little more proactive this time around, while Espanyol have become a much more entertaining team to watch this season under Manolo Gonzalez. As Getafe chase a much-needed win, it could end up being quite a fun watch for the neutral at the Coliseum this weekend.
