The prediction

Geelong, who were not in action last week, have played two matches so far in the early stages of the 2026 AFL campaign, losing to Gold Coast on Opening Weekend before coming from 35 points behind to defeat Fremantle a week later.

Last year's Grand Final runners-up certainly haven't been at their best so far but the manner in which they clawed Fremantle back will have given head coach Chris Scott some optimism for the season ahead.

They take on an Adelaide side who played out a thriller with Western Bulldogs last week, with the Crows ultimately coming up short by six points at the Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide are weakened somewhat by the injury absences of Rory Laird and Jordan Dawson for this one, and they will be up against it here against an opponent they have lost against in eight of the last nine meetings between the pair.

With these factors in mind, Geelong - fully rested after a bye week - should take this one.
