This is an intriguing contest down in the capital city as Fulham, coached by Marco Silva, welcome a steady but strong Leeds United side to Craven Cottage this weekend.

Fulham preview: Kicking on

Given the natural ceiling imposed upon Fulham, there is always a risk that things become stale and begin to stagnate, but Marco Silva is a good coach and the Cottagers once again appear to be a reasonably strong side again this season.

They rescued a last gasp point against Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium on the opening day before then sharing a 1-1 draw with Manchester United. They then played well before succumbing to a 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds preview: Steady Leeds

Leeds United were dominant in the Championship last season, albeit they won the league title on goal difference despite collecting 100 points, with their underlying data even suggesting that 100 points was a bit of an underperformance.

Daniel Farke’s outfit have started this season steadily, too, with a 1-0 defeat of Everton courtesy of a late penalty at Elland Road and a goalless draw at home to Newcastle United sandwiching a forgivable 5-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Fulham vs Leeds prediction

Leeds will be content with their points collected thus far, but there will be a slight concern that they could become reliant on their home advantage of Elland Road, and another trip down to the capital city is a tough test. Fulham will be keen to avoid stagnation, and the signings of Samu Chukwueze and Kevin should help, and they are firm favourites to get themselves a first win of the campaign.
