Freiburg vs Basel prediction

Julian Schuster’s Freiburg come into this one on the back of an impressive 3-0 hammering of Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion in the Bundesliga, courtesy of an own goal from Abdoul Karim Coulibaly as well as strikes from Vincenzo Grifo and Junior Adamu, making it back-to-back victories since the international break.

They now face a Basel side that most recently required a penalty shootout to edge past lower league side Etoile Carouge in the second round of the Swiss Cup at the weekend. They have started the Swiss Super League season slowly but back-to-back victories has them back challenging the likes of St Gallen and Thun at the top-of-the-table.

Freiburg are beginning to turn their form around after a very poor start last month and, with home advantage, they are firm favourites to ease past Basel this week.
