The Spaniard followed up a semi-final surge at the Valencia Challenger with a 6-0 6-3 rout of Nishesh Basavareddy.
Next up, the eighth seed tackles another qualifier in the shape of Francisco Comesana who took down Valentin Royer 2-6 6-3 6-4.
This will be their second meeting with the Argentine winning 6-4 6-4 on the hardcourts of Cincinnati last year.
Both will feel they are a tougher proposition on clay, but Comesana has managed just three wins in 2026 so we lean towards Munar in terms of ranking and know-how on European dirt.
