Francisco Cerundolo impressed at his last event in Miami, as he reached the quarter-finals for a second successive year. However, he was unable to go further as he was comfortably beaten by Alexander Zverev. Nevertheless, the Argentine has some momentum on his side as he prepares for the European clay court season.
He is handed a tough draw in round one as he goes up against three-time champion Stefanos Tsitsipas. The former world number three is now ranked just inside the top 50 after a decline in form, but he will take some confidence from his stellar record at this event, winning the title in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
