Francisco Cerundolo continued his serene progress at the BMW Open with a 6-2 6-4 win over David Goffin to reach the semi-finals. He had a slight wobble in the second set which brought Goffin back into the match, but he managed to seal the deal in an hour and 15 minutes. The Argentine has lost just 13 games en route to the last four and can head into his semi-final with Ben Shelton full of confidence.

It's been quite the turnaround for Shelton, who was staring down the prospect of consecutive first-round losses on clay but saved match points against qualifier Borna Gojo and then won his next two matches. His latest was arguably his most impressive on the surface as he took down in-form Luciano Darderi in straight sets without dropping serve.

The American returned well throughout and there’s been a clear improvement in his level as the tournament has progressed. We think Cerundolo is good value for the win but he might need three sets to get it done.
