Francesco Passaro vs Chun-Hsin Tseng prediction

Francesco Passaro makes his return to the tour at his home event after suffering from a leg injury during the last month. He last competed at a Challenger event in Napoli as the third seed but lost to Elias Ymer in three sets in the first-round. He has only competed in three tournaments since the Australian Open in January and currently holds a 1-2 win/loss record at tour level this season.

Chun-Hsin Tseng advanced through the qualifying stages after two very comfortable victories. His overall form heading into this event is poor however, as he has not managed a main draw victory on clay this season, with two first-round losses at the Bucharest Open and BMW Open and qualifying defeats in Monte-Carlo and Madrid.

These two are situated just outside the top 100 in the world rankings with just one place separating them. They have played once before, at Challenger level on clay, with Tseng defeating Passaro 6-3 6-3 in the semi-finals in Vicenza last year. Passaro is lacking considerable match fitness, having been out of action for a while, which is why we lean towards Tseng outlasting the Italian and winning in three sets.
