His next opponent will be Sebastian Korda. Korda defeated another American in the last round as he beat Jenson Brooksby 6-1 6-2 7-6. The head-to-head is locked at 3-3, though Korda has won their last three matches, with their most recent encounter being in the semi-final of the Washington Open last year.
Conversely, Tiafoe won their only match on clay in the semi-final of the Estoril Open in 2022, coming from a set down to defeat Korda 4-6 7-6 6-4. This will likely a close match between the pair but Korda may have the psychological edge having won their three matches and he seems to have found some form after an underwhelming clay season up to now.
