VILLARREAL
It has been a generally miserable campaign for Villarreal so far this season with The Yellow Submarine already onto their third manager of the campaign but that manager, Marcelino, pulled off an extraordinary result last weekend to try and ease the pressure on himself as it had appeared that they might be searching for a fourth manager soon.
Last weekend, they went to Catalonia to defeat Barcelona by five goals to three at the Olympic Stadium. They were 3-2 down in the 84th minute and then level at 3-3 until the 99th minute before two late goals from Alexander Sorloth and Jose Luis Morales. They are firmly in the bottom-half of the table but begin the weekend seven points clear of the team that are 18th.
CADIZ
The team that are 18th are indeed their upcoming opponents, Cadiz. It has been an awful season thus far for the Andalusians with the recent appointment of former Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino, who replaced Sergio, hardly inspiring much hope. Their league position of 18th is actually quite flattering to them after a terrible few months.
They won two of their opening four La Liga matches but are now winless in their 18 games since then as they appear destined for the second-tier. Cadiz have scored just 15 goals in their 22 games so far this season, which is comfortably the lowest amount in the league. The visitors, despite being ten points clear of Almeria, are arguably the worst team in the league.

This is the derby between the two teams nicknamed ‘Yellow Submarine’ but that tenuous link is the only real similarity as they face off at El Madrigal this weekend. Villarreal will be seeking to build upon their impressive result against Barcelona last week. They do face a Cadiz side that pulled off an impressive point with a goalless draw against Athletic but a Villarreal win, especially with their home advantage, remains the likeliest outcome.
