Last season, Sevilla were in a relegation battle but eventually eased themselves into the middle-of-the-table. However, the Andalusians may not be as fortunate this time around as they battle against relegation once again but with no signs or genuine hope of improvement with their third permanent manager of the season already in the dugout and underperforming.
Former Getafe and Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, who has followed on from Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso in charge of Sevilla this season, oversaw their Copa del Rey exit in midweek as they were beaten 1-0 by Atletico Madrid. They have just six victories in 32 matches across all competitions so far this season.
OSASUNA
After finishing seventh and qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League as well as reaching the final of the Copa del Rey last season, it was always going to be difficult to replicate that for Jago Arrasate this time around. However, the Pamplona-based club have still been underwhelming, albeit they come into this one on the back of some much-improved form.
The visitors’ most recent outing saw them defeat Getafe by three goals to two with a remarkable winning goal from Jesus Areso last weekend in La Liga. That means Osasuna have now managed three victories in their last four matches as they try and move themselves into a position to compete for another top seven finish.

It is getting towards the stage that Sevilla have to start identifying any home games against reasonably winnable opposition as ‘must win’ matches or it could be too late. This is therefore a massive game for them at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday afternoon but they are welcoming an in-form Osasuna side down to Andalusia. Sevilla will have to get up and get at the visitors but Osasuna’s good form could spark more of an even and quite entertaining encounter.
