Under the management of Imanol Aguacil, Real Sociedad are widely viewed as one of the most intense and energetic pressing teams in La Liga but La Real are proving the doubters wrong with their second-half of the season slump, which has been the case in the last few years, yet to come to fruition just yet.
They come into this on the back of back-to-back victories at Balaidos against Celta Vigo. They defeated them by a goal to nil in La Liga last weekend before edging past the same opposition in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in midweek. They remain in contention for a top four spot and UEFA Champions League qualification, once again.
RAYO VALLECANO
After a turbulent summer transfer window, it has been a very impressive campaign for Rayo Vallecano as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table. They lost their manager, Andoni Iraola, as well as several key players but Francisco has more or less steadied the ship – although there are growing concerns that results are beginning to catch up with some poor performances.
Rayo were beaten 2-0 by Las Palmas at Vallecas in their most recent outing, last weekend, and that was their fourth defeat in five matches across all competitions. The visitors have managed just one win in their last ten games in La Liga in a poor run of form that stretches all the way back to mid-October.

Real Sociedad are depleted and down on numbers playing in three different competitions and pushing towards the top four.
