Under the management of former Barcelona youth coach Garcia Pimienta, Las Palmas gained promotion to the top-flight last season and they have began this season extremely well as they challenge for a potential top seven finish and potential European qualification as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top-half of the table.
The Canary Islanders come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 win away to Alaves in the Basque Country in their most recent outing, last weekend. Las Palmas have now suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches across all competitions and just two losses in their last 11 matches. They have still scored just 14 goals in their 16 La Liga games so far this season.
CADIZ
Under the management of Sergio, Cadiz begin the 17th match day of the 2023/24 La Liga season sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places after some awful form in recent months. They won two of their opening four matches but have now not won since before the September international break.
The Andalusians have scored just 13 goals, too, which is the fewest of any team in Spain’s top-flight. The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Osasuna in their most recent outing, last weekend, which followed a defeat to fourth-tier Arandina in the second round of the Copa del Rey in midweek.

The gap between these two sides is quite surprising given that they were both expected to suffer from a relegation battle this season. Given that, as well as their home advantage, a low-scoring Las Palmas victory would appear quite likely for this one.
