Getafe narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of the campaign last season, having swapped their manager in the March international break. Jose Bordalas returned to the Coliseum to replace Quique Sanchez Flores and his aggressive, quite defensive tactics have been implemented once again as they seek to emulate the relative success they had around half a decade ago.
The Madrid-based club come into this on the back of a surprisingly entertaining 2-2 draw in the Basque Country away to Athletic Club. They have started the season as steadily as a Bordalas team can with two victories, two draws and three defeats as they begin the weekend sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table.
VILLARREAL
Despite finishing in the top five last season, Quique Setien never appeared to be the man wanted by club or supporters at Villarreal. The former Real Betis boss was replaced by Pacheta in the September international break as the Yellow Submarine seek to build from a summer transfer window in which they lost key players such as Samu Chukwueze and Pau Torres.
The visitors have started Pacheta’s reign at El Madrigal with a win, draw and a defeat in La Liga but have also suffered a 2-0 defeat in Athens against Panathinaikos on the group stages of the UEFA Europa League. They come into this on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Girona, despite taking the lead early in the second-half of that match.
