THE LOWDOWN

GETAFE

Under the management of Jose Bordalas, Getafe’s expectation would be to ensure they are not involved in a relegation battle on the final day of the campaign and anything that surpasses that is a bonus. The capital city club sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table with some very steady form, albeit low-scoring in typically Bordalas fashion.

The home team were held to yet another draw by Granada before the break and they are now unbeaten in their last eight matches across all competitions. Quite remarkably, though, six of those eight games have been draws with one of the two victories being a 12-0 defeat of Tardienta in the Copa del Rey.

ALMERIA

Almeria avoided relegation the final day of the season but, especially with some average transfer business in the summer, were always expected to struggle down at the bottom once again this season. The Andalusians are the only winless team in La Liga so far this season and begin the weekend sitting rock-bottom.

They come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Real Sociedad in their most recent outing, a couple of weeks ago, before the international break. That was their fifth successive defeat as they continue some really poor form throughout the campaign, as reflected by their goals against column of 35 conceded in just 13 matches.

THE PREDICTION

Getafe are being as stubborn and difficult to beat as ever with the typically intense and aggressive Jose Bordalas style, which once saw them reach the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League, beginning to produce results once again. They face an Almeria side that are destined for a return to the second-tier and will not at all fancy their chances of getting one over a fierce Getafe side, especially at the Coliseum. A low-scoring home win is to be expected for this one.

BETTING TIP: GETAFE TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
