CELTA VIGO
Rafa Benitez has been under pressure for his job several times this season but the former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager is finally beginning to feel a little more comfortable as Celta pick up points down at the bottom end of La Liga. The Galicians’ results have not matched performances throughout the campaign but they are starting to get what they deserve.
They come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Real Sociedad in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in midweek in their most recent outing. Thay also lost to La Real at Balaidos in La Liga last weekend, too. However, prior to those defeats to Imanol Aguacil’s side, Celta had suffered just one defeat in ten matches across all competitions.
GIRONA
It has been a magnificent campaign for Girona so far this season but their dreams of a double came undone in midweek as they suffered a 3-2 defeat in the Balearic Islands to Real Mallorca. That has continued their thrilling and high-scoring campaign with the only goalless draw coming a couple of weeks ago against bottom-of-the-table and winless, Almeria.
Under the management of Michel, the Catalans do begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting at the top-of-the-table with an excellent array of attacking talent. Their 21 matches so far this season have consisted of 76 goals with 51 scored comfortably the most in La Liga after coming from behind to hammer Sevilla by five goals to one last weekend.

In-form Celta could be the perfect team to put a dampener on an unlikely title challenge. The style of football that Benitez and the Galicians will play in this game will be to contain a high-scoring and free-flowing Girona side. Celta have been in excellent form themselves, though, and will be confident of hurting a Girona team that have conceded 25 goals already this season. As a result, both teams scoring would appear a decent bet for this one at Balaidos on Sunday afternoon.
